Quantum Vault – Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-05-26
Quantum Vault is built on a strict zero‑knowledge, on‑device‑only architecture.
We do not collect, store, transmit, or access any of your personal information—not for core features, not for optional features, not for backups, and not for analytics. Everything stays on your device, entirely under your control.
Where application features require system access, data is handled exclusively via ephemeral local processing—meaning it is processed temporarily in your device's local memory to perform the action and is never transmitted to us or any third party.
1. Data We Do Not Transmit or Collect (Off-Device)
Quantum Vault operates no application servers and has no backend infrastructure. We do not collect, receive, or store:
Personal Identity Information: Names, emails, phone numbers, or user profiles.
Vault Contents: Photos, videos, audio, documents, passwords, secrets, or metadata.
Device & Tracking Data: Device identifiers, tracking tokens, usage statistics, or behavioral data.
Physical Location Data: We do not track or log your physical coordinates.
Diagnostics: Crash logs or system diagnostics.
2. Data Processed and Stored Locally on Your Device
All data you create, import, or generate within Quantum Vault is subject strictly to local handling:
Local Cryptography: Data is stored locally on your Android device and encrypted using quantum‑resistant encryption.
User Authentication: Vault contents are accessible only via your local biometric or passphrase authentication.
No Developer Access: We have zero technical means to access your vault, reset your password, or recover your data. If you lose your passphrase, your data cannot be recovered by us.
3. Optional Cloud Backup (Bring Your Own Storage)
Quantum Vault supports an optional encrypted backup feature utilizing third-party storage providers of your choice (e.g., Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive).
User-Initiated Only: Backups never run unless you explicitly enable, authorize, and configure them.
Pre-Transmission Encryption: Your data is fully encrypted on-device before it is uploaded to your cloud provider.
Zero Infrastructure: We do not operate any cloud infrastructure. We do not know what you back up, when you back up, or where you back up. Your chosen storage provider’s privacy policy applies to their hosting environment.
4. Android Permissions & Local Processing
To execute features entirely offline and on-device, Quantum Vault requests specific Android system permissions. Data accessed via these permissions is restricted to ephemeral local processing or local vault storage; it is never collected or transmitted off the device.
Camera & Microphone: Used strictly to capture secure photos, videos, or audio recordings directly inside your vault. This media bypasses your phone’s standard, unencrypted system gallery.
Storage / Files Access: Used only when you manually command the app to import existing files into your vault, or explicitly export decrypted files out of it.
Location Access (Wi-Fi State): Used exclusively for the "Safe Zone" security feature to detect your trusted Wi-Fi network's name (SSID).
Note on Android Requirements: Google automatically categorizes Wi-Fi SSID network lookups under Location permissions. Quantum Vault uses this purely in local volatile memory to verify your safe network; your actual physical location coordinates are never read, stored, or transmitted.Biometric Authentication: Used locally to unlock your vault, Shield Mode, and Double‑Lock features. Your biometric data is handled securely by the Android operating system hardware layer and never leaves your device.
5. Billing & Payments
Quantum Vault utilizes Google Play Billing for in‑app purchases and subscriptions.
All financial processing, credit card data, and billing addresses are securely managed directly by Google.
Quantum Vault does not receive your payment identifiers or email address. Google provides us solely with non-identifiable transaction tokens and timestamps to verify your purchase entitlement status.
6. No Third‑Party Analytics or Tracking
To guarantee complete data isolation, Quantum Vault contains:
NO Analytics Software Development Kits (SDKs) (e.g., Firebase Analytics).
NO Automated third-party crash reporting or diagnostic tools.
NO Advertising networks, tracking libraries, or digital fingerprinting technologies.
7. Secure Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Sharing
If you utilize our secure sharing feature to transfer files to another user:
All data bundles are encrypted end‑to‑end on-device before transfer.
Connections are established directly between devices. If a network-bridging signaling relay is required to bypass strict firewalls, it functions blindly; no intermediate system can decrypt, read, or log your shared data payload.
8. Children’s Privacy
Quantum Vault is a general‑audience security tool. Because our architecture inherently prevents us from collecting, processing, or storing personal data from any user, we do not knowingly or unknowingly collect data from children under any age jurisdiction.
9. Your Rights (Access, Deletion, and Portability)
Because we do not collect, maintain, or store any personal data or maintain any user accounts:
There is no data on our systems for us to grant access to.
There is no data on our systems for us to delete.
There is no data on our systems for us to export. All management, deletion, and data portability rights are executed directly by you on your physical Android device or your personal cloud storage.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may occasionally update this Privacy Policy to reflect application architecture enhancements or evolving regulatory compliance requirements. Updates will be posted visibly within the application and on our official website.
